  • 0.5 ounces elderflower liqueur
  • 0.75 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 ounces simple syrup
  • Ice for shaking
  • Lemon twist or fresh mint sprig for garnish

Method
 

  1. Place the coupe or rocks glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes to chill.
  2. Cut a fresh lemon in half and squeeze 0.75 ounces of juice, straining out any pulp.
  3. Pour 2 ounces of gin into the cocktail shaker.
  4. Add 0.5 ounces of elderflower liqueur to the shaker.
  5. Add 0.75 ounces fresh lemon juice and 0.5 ounces simple syrup to the shaker.
  6. Fill the shaker two-thirds full with ice.
  7. Shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until the shaker is frosty.
  8. Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass using a fine strainer.
  9. Express a lemon twist over the drink or add a mint sprig for garnish, then serve immediately.

Notes

Batch the liquid ingredients without ice and shake each cocktail individually for best freshness. Use fresh lemon juice for optimal flavor.
