Method
- Place a copper mug or highball glass in the freezer and chill for at least 2 minutes.
- Remove the glass and fill it completely with ice.
- Using a jigger, measure and pour 2 ounces of silver tequila into the ice-filled glass.
- Cut a fresh lime in half and juice it using a citrus juicer to yield approximately 0.5 ounce of lime juice.
- Pour the fresh lime juice over the tequila and ice.
- Top the glass with 4 to 5 ounces of cold ginger beer, pouring slowly to maintain carbonation.
- Stir gently with a bar spoon for about 10 seconds to combine ingredients without losing carbonation.
- Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and a thin slice of fresh ginger, then serve immediately.
Notes
Always use fresh lime juice and quality ginger beer for best flavor.
