Method
- Heat 6 ounces of fresh, cold water in an electric kettle or on the stovetop until it reaches a rolling boil, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Pour the boiling water into a tall mug and add the tea bag or infuser; steep for 3 to 5 minutes depending on tea type, then remove the tea.
- While the tea steeps, heat 6 ounces of milk in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it reaches 150°F to 160°F, about 2 minutes.
- Optional: Froth the hot milk using a whisk or handheld frother for 30 seconds until light foam forms.
- Stir 1/2 to 1 teaspoon sweetener into the hot tea until fully dissolved.
- Slowly pour the heated milk into the sweetened tea, holding back the foam with a spoon.
- Optional: Spoon the remaining foam on top of the latte for a cafe-style finish.
Notes
Customize with different tea varieties, sweeteners, and milk options. Foam is optional but enhances texture.
