Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 pounds fresh strawberries hulled and halved
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup or to taste
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 6 to 8 fresh mint leaves optional
  • 1 pinch salt

  • Blender or food processor
  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Tall glasses for serving
  • Wooden spoon for stirring
  • Juicer (optional)

Method
 

  1. Prepare the strawberries by removing hulls and halving or quartering larger berries.
  2. Add the strawberries to the blender, filling it about halfway.
  3. Pour in 1 cup of cold water.
  4. Add 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice and 2 tablespoons simple syrup.
  5. Add a pinch of salt to enhance the strawberry flavor.
  6. Blend on high speed for 45 to 60 seconds until completely smooth.
  7. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing gently to extract all liquid.
  8. Fill two tall glasses with ice cubes.
  9. Pour the strained strawberry mixture evenly over ice and garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves before serving.

Notes

Chill glasses before serving to keep the drink colder longer. Store strained mixture in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
