Ingredients

Main
  • 4 to 5 medium strawberries hulled and halved
  • 2 ounces premium vodka
  • 0.75 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 ounce simple syrup
  • 0.5 ounce strawberry liqueur optional
  • Ice for shaking and serving
  • 1 whole fresh strawberry for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger for measuring
  • Coupe glass or martini glass
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Small blender or muddler
  • Bar spoon

Method

  1. Hull and rinse 4 to 5 medium strawberries, then halve and pat them dry.
  2. Place the halved strawberries in a cocktail shaker and gently muddle with a muddler or bar spoon to release juices, taking care not to pulverize completely.
  3. Add 2 ounces premium vodka, 0.75 ounce fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 ounce strawberry liqueur (if using) to the shaker.
  4. Pour in 0.5 ounce simple syrup to balance sweetness.
  5. Fill the shaker three-quarters full with ice, seal tightly, and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until well chilled.
  6. Double strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled coupe or martini glass to remove solids.
  7. Garnish with a whole fresh strawberry on the rim or floated in the glass.
  8. Serve immediately to enjoy the silky texture and optimal temperature.

Notes

Chill the coupe glass in the freezer for at least 15 minutes before preparing the cocktail to ensure it stays cold from first sip to last.
