Method
- Pull two shots (about 2 ounces) of brewed espresso into a small cup and let cool to room temperature or refrigerate for 5 minutes.
- Pour 1 cup cold whole milk into a measuring cup and measure 3 tablespoons Frappuccino base syrup into a separate spoon.
- Add the cooled espresso, cold milk, and base syrup to the blender in that order to prevent syrup from sticking to the bottom.
- Add 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips to the blender.
- Add 1.5 cups ice cubes on top of the other ingredients.
- Blend on high speed for 45 to 60 seconds until the mixture is pale brown, thick, and slushy with no ice chunks remaining.
- Taste a small spoonful and, if additional sweetness is desired, add 1 tablespoon base syrup or simple syrup and blend for another 10 seconds.
- Pour the blended frappuccino into a tall glass, working quickly to maintain its thick, creamy texture.
- Top with 2 tablespoons whipped cream and drizzle 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup over the whipped cream, if desired.
Notes
Ensure espresso is fully cooled before blending to prevent dilution. Adjust sweetness and ice ratio to taste.
