  • 1.5 ounces premium silver tequila
  • 1 cup fresh mango chunks
  • 0.75 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 ounces Cointreau or triple sec
  • 0.5 ounces fresh orange juice
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt for rimming optional
  • Fresh mango slice or lime wheel for garnish

  • Jigger or measuring cup

Method
 

  1. Cut a ripe mango in half, remove the pit, and scoop out one cup of fresh mango chunks.
  2. Add mango chunks to a blender and blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.
  3. Pour 1.5 ounces of tequila and 0.5 ounces of Cointreau into a cocktail shaker.
  4. Add the mango puree, 0.75 ounces lime juice, and 0.5 ounces orange juice to the shaker.
  5. Sprinkle a pinch of cayenne pepper into the shaker, starting conservatively.
  6. Fill the shaker halfway with ice cubes.
  7. Shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
  8. Strain the mixture into a rimmed glass over fresh ice.
  9. Garnish with a fresh mango slice or lime wheel and serve immediately.

Notes

Freeze your serving glass for 10 minutes beforehand to keep the margarita colder longer and prevent rapid dilution.
