Ingredients

Main
  • 2 fresh soursop fruits about 3 to 4 pounds total, ripe and soft to touch
  • 2 cups cold water or more if you prefer thinner juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave nectar adjust to taste
  • Pinch of sea salt about 1/8 teaspoon
  • Ice cubes optional, for serving

Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Blender or food processor
  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
  • Spoon or spatula for pressing pulp
  • Measuring spoons
  • Glass pitcher or serving glasses

Method

  1. Select 2 ripe soursop fruits that yield slightly to gentle pressure; cut each fruit in half lengthwise and scoop out the white pulp with a spoon.
  2. Remove all black seeds from the pulp by hand or by passing the pulp through a colander and picking out the seeds.
  3. Place the cleaned soursop pulp into a blender along with 2 cups cold water, 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, 2 tablespoons honey or agave nectar, and a pinch of sea salt.
  4. Blend on high speed for 45 to 60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and no fibers remain, scraping down the sides as needed.
  5. Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth into a pitcher, using a spoon to gently press the pulp and extract all the liquid.
  6. Taste the strained juice and adjust sweetness with additional honey or acidity with more lime juice as desired.
  7. Chill the juice in the refrigerator for 15 minutes or serve immediately over ice cubes for a refreshing drink.

Notes

Store the juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze in ice cube trays for later use.
