Method
- Pour 1 liter of filtered water into a large pitcher as your base.
- Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt into the water and stir well to dissolve completely.
- Add 1/4 teaspoon of sodium chloride and stir until fully incorporated into the liquid.
- Cut your lemons and limes in half and juice them using a citrus reamer or juicer, straining out any pulp or seeds as you pour into the pitcher.
- Add 2 tablespoons of honey and stir the pitcher vigorously for about 30 seconds until the honey dissolves completely.
- Mix the entire pitcher thoroughly for at least one full minute, making sure the salt, sodium, sweetener, and citrus juice distribute evenly throughout the water.
- Pour a small sample into a glass and taste it carefully, noting whether you need more sweetness, salt, or citrus tang. Adjust as needed.
- Pour the snake juice over ice in serving glasses and drink immediately for maximum refreshment. If you prefer it colder, refrigerate the pitcher for 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Store snake juice in an airtight pitcher or glass container in the fridge for up to three days maximum. The citrus flavor fades noticeably after the second day, so drink it sooner rather than later for the best taste. Stir before each pour since electrolytes settle at the bottom.
