Ingredients

Main
  • 2 ounces butterscotch schnapps 0.5 ounces per shot
  • 2 ounces peanut butter liqueur 0.5 ounces per shot
  • 2 ounces chocolate liqueur such as Creme de Cacao (0.5 ounces per shot)
  • 2 ounces heavy cream 0.5 ounces per shot

Equipment

  • Shot glasses (4)
  • Jigger or measuring spoon
  • Bar spoon or long spoon for stirring
  • Small mixing glass or cup
  • Cocktail shaker (optional)

Method

  1. Place your shot glasses in the freezer for at least 5 minutes before mixing to keep the shot properly chilled.
  2. Pour 0.5 ounces of butterscotch schnapps into your first shot glass to form the sweet, warm base.
  3. Carefully pour 0.5 ounces of peanut butter liqueur into the same shot glass.
  4. Add 0.5 ounces of chocolate liqueur (Creme de Cacao) to the mix.
  5. Give the three liqueurs a gentle stir with a bar spoon for about 3 seconds to combine the flavors.
  6. If you have time, place the mixed shot glass back in the freezer for 1 minute for an extra-cold shot (optional).
  7. Very slowly pour 0.5 ounces of heavy cream over the back of a bar spoon so it floats on top of the other ingredients, creating a layered look.
  8. Serve immediately while perfectly chilled and the layers are distinct. Repeat steps for remaining 3 shots.

Notes

Use a bar spoon or the back of a regular spoon when pouring the cream so it floats instead of sinking. Keep everything cold by freezing shot glasses beforehand. Don't stir after adding the cream or you'll destroy the float effect. Make multiple shots assembly-line style during parties for efficiency. Serve within 30 seconds of making for best results.
