  • 2 cups fresh raspberries or frozen
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional
  • Mint leaves for garnish optional

  • Strainer or fine-mesh sieve
  • Stirring spoon
  • Cup or teapot

Method
 

  1. Start by bringing the 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in your medium saucepan.
  2. Once boiling, carefully add the 2 cups of raspberries.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the 1/4 cup sugar while the tea is still warm.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve.
  6. If desired, stir in the tablespoon of lemon juice.
  7. Serve the tea warm or let it cool and refrigerate for iced tea.
  8. Garnish with mint leaves if desired.
