Method
- Chill the martini or coupe glass by filling it with ice while you prepare the cocktail.
- Place 6 to 8 fresh or frozen raspberries into the cocktail shaker.
- Gently muddle the raspberries with a muddler or back of a spoon for 10 seconds to release their juice without crushing the seeds.
- Add 2 ounces (60 ml) vodka and 0.5 ounce (15 ml) raspberry liqueur into the shaker.
- Pour in 0.5 ounce (15 ml) fresh lemon juice and 0.5 ounce (15 ml) simple syrup.
- Add 1 cup of ice to the shaker and secure the lid.
- Shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until the shaker feels frosty.
- Discard the ice from the chilled glass and strain the mixture into the glass, using a fine mesh strainer for extra smoothness if desired.
- Garnish with 2 to 3 fresh raspberries dropped into the drink or placed on the rim, then serve immediately.
Notes
For a smoother texture, strain through a fine mesh sieve and serve immediately to prevent dilution.
