Ingredients

Main
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce raspberry liqueur such as Chambord or Framboise
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 6 to 8 fresh raspberries
  • Ice for shaking
  • Lemon wheel or twist for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring spoon
  • Strainer
  • Martini glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Muddler or wooden spoon
  • Citrus juicer

Method

  1. Chill the martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Measure and gather vodka, fresh lemon juice, raspberry liqueur, and simple syrup into the cocktail shaker.
  3. Add 6 to 8 fresh raspberries to the shaker and gently muddle with a spoon to release juice without creating a paste.
  4. Pour vodka, lemon juice, raspberry liqueur, and simple syrup into the shaker over the muddled raspberries.
  5. Fill the shaker three-quarters full with ice.
  6. Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until the exterior is frosty.
  7. Remove the chilled glass from the freezer and strain the mixture into it using a cocktail strainer.
  8. Garnish with a lemon wheel or twist and serve immediately.

Notes

Muddle raspberries gently to break the skin without pulverizing for a clear, elegant drink.
