  • 4 bags of black tea
  • 1 cup of fresh or frozen raspberries
  • 1/3 cup of sugar adjust to taste
  • Ice for serving
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Teapot or saucepan
  • Strainer or fine-mesh sieve
  • Pitcher
  • Glass for serving
  • Stirring spoon

Method

  1. Start by bringing 4 cups of water to a boil in a teapot or saucepan.
  2. Once boiling, remove the pot from heat and add the tea bags. Let it steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. If using fresh raspberries, rinse them gently. For frozen, simply measure out a cup and set aside.

  5. Add the raspberries to the brewed tea. Use a spoon to gently mash them, releasing their juice.
  6. Allow the tea to cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes.

  8. Fill glasses with ice and pour the raspberry tea over. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.

For an extra flavor boost, add a splash of lemon juice or a few slices of lemon before serving.
