Ingredients

Main
  • 2 ounces 60 ml vodka
  • 0.5 ounce 15 ml Chambord (black raspberry liqueur)
  • 2 ounces 60 ml cranberry juice
  • 1 ounce 30 ml blueberry juice or blueberry vodka
  • 0.5 ounce 15 ml fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 ounce 15 ml simple syrup
  • Ice cubes as needed
  • Fresh blueberries 3 to 4 for garnish
  • Lime wheel for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or any jar with a tight-fitting lid
  • Jigger or shot glass for measuring spirits
  • Bar spoon or long spoon for stirring
  • Strainer or fine-mesh sieve
  • Rocks glass or highball glass
  • Cutting board and knife for citrus garnish
  • Ice bucket or freezer for chilled ice

Method

  1. Chill your rocks glass by filling it with ice cubes and setting it aside while you prepare the drink.
  2. Pour 2 ounces of vodka into your cocktail shaker.
  3. Add 0.5 ounce of Chambord to the shaker.
  4. Add 2 ounces of cranberry juice and 1 ounce of blueberry juice to the shaker.
  5. Measure and add 0.5 ounce of fresh lime juice to the shaker.
  6. Pour 0.5 ounce of simple syrup into the shaker.
  7. Fill the shaker with a generous handful of ice, then cap and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until frosty.
  8. Use a strainer to pour the cocktail into your prepared ice-filled glass.
  9. Garnish by dropping 3 to 4 fresh blueberries into the glass and placing a lime wheel on the rim or floating on top.

Notes

Freeze your blueberries ahead of time; they'll stay firm longer and keep your drink colder without diluting it as quickly as melting ice would.
