Ingredients

  • 4 medium lemons juiced (about 3/4 cup fresh juice)
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1/2 cup dill or bread and butter pickle juice
  • 1/4 cup homemade or store-bought simple syrup
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • Pinch of sea salt optional for garnish
  • Lemon slices for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. Cut lemons in half and juice them using a citrus press to yield about 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice.
  2. Pour the fresh lemon juice into a large pitcher.
  3. Add 1/2 cup pickle juice to the lemon juice in the pitcher and stir gently to combine.
  4. Stir in 1/4 cup simple syrup until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour in 3 cups of cold, filtered water and mix thoroughly.
  6. Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness or brine by adding more simple syrup, water, or pickle juice as desired.
  7. Add 2 cups of ice cubes to the pitcher to chill the drink.
  8. Serve the pickle lemonade in glasses with ice, garnished with lemon slices and a pinch of sea salt on the rim.

Notes

Serve immediately after mixing for the crispest flavor. Garnish with lemon slices and a pinch of sea salt.
