Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 ounces Irish whiskey Jameson, Bushmills, or similar
  • 0.75 ounces hazelnut liqueur Frangelico
  • 0.5 ounces Bailey's Irish Cream
  • Ice fresh cubes or crushed
  • Optional: 0.25 ounces heavy cream for floating
  • Optional: Crushed hazelnuts or cocoa powder for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Jigger for measuring
  • Bar spoon or long mixing spoon
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Rocks glass or lowball glass
  • Ice (fresh cubes or crushed)

Method
 

  1. Fill a rocks glass halfway with fresh ice cubes and set aside to chill.
  2. Pour 1.5 ounces of Irish whiskey into a cocktail shaker using a jigger.
  3. Add 0.75 ounces of hazelnut liqueur to the shaker.
  4. Add 0.5 ounces of Bailey's Irish Cream to the shaker.
  5. Fill the shaker three-quarters full with fresh ice cubes.
  6. Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds until the shaker is frosty.
  7. Strain the mixture into the chilled rocks glass over fresh ice using a cocktail strainer.
  8. Optionally, pour 0.25 ounces of heavy cream over the back of a spoon to float a cream layer on top.
  9. Garnish with crushed hazelnuts or a dusting of cocoa powder, then serve immediately.

Notes

Serve immediately at peak temperature as an after-dinner sipper or dessert cocktail.
