Method
- Pull your Nespresso shot: insert a Nespresso capsule and pull a single shot into a heat-safe cup, then let the espresso cool for 30 seconds.
- Chill your glassware: fill your cocktail glass with ice and cold water or place it in the freezer for one minute, then discard the ice and water.
- Pour vodka into the shaker: measure and pour 2 ounces of chilled vodka into your cocktail shaker.
- Add the coffee liqueur: pour 1 ounce of Kahlua or coffee liqueur into the shaker.
- Add the cooled espresso: carefully pour in the cooled Nespresso espresso, allowing the crema to remain on top.
- Fill the shaker with ice: add enough ice cubes to fill the shaker about halfway.
- Shake vigorously: secure the lid and shake hard for 10 to 15 seconds until the shaker feels frosty.
- Strain into your chilled glass: strain the cocktail into the chilled glass using a fine strainer to hold back ice shards.
- Garnish and serve: drop three coffee beans onto the foam layer, serve immediately, and enjoy.
Notes
Serve immediately to maintain the foam and temperature, and always use fresh espresso for the best crema.
