Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons chamoy sauce
  • 2 cups fruit juice mango, pineapple, or watermelon
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 2 teaspoons Tajin seasoning or chili powder for rimming
  • 2 cinnamon sticks for garnish
  • A few pieces chamoy candy or tamarind candy for stirring

Equipment

  • Two tall drinking glasses
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Long spoon or cocktail stirrer
  • Jigger or shot glass
  • Small plate for rim seasoning
  • Ice maker or ice trays
  • Cocktail shaker (optional)

Method
 

  1. Pour 3 tablespoons of chamoy sauce into the bottom of each tall glass.
  2. Rub the rim of each glass with fresh lime juice and dip into Tajin seasoning to coat about one inch.
  3. Fill each glass three-quarters full with ice cubes.
  4. Add 1 cup fruit juice, 2 tablespoons honey, and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice to each glass.
  5. Stir with a long spoon for about 15 seconds until the honey dissolves and the liquid is uniform.
  6. Pour 2 tablespoons more chamoy sauce over the ice in each glass.
  7. Place one cinnamon stick into each glass as garnish and stirrer.
  8. Drop a few pieces of chamoy candy or tamarind candy into each drink to dissolve as you sip.

Notes

Chill glasses before preparing and stir occasionally as you drink to maintain flavor distribution.
