Method
- Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least two minutes.
- Pour 2 ounces of bourbon into a jigger and add it to the cocktail shaker.
- Measure 0.5 ounces of chambord and pour it into the shaker.
- Cut and juice a fresh lemon until you have 0.75 ounces of juice.
- Add 0.75 ounces of fresh lemon juice to the shaker.
- Measure 0.5 ounces of simple syrup and add it to the shaker.
- Add a handful of ice to the shaker, seal it, and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds.
- Remove the chilled glass from the freezer and strain the cocktail into it using a fine strainer.
- Cut a thin strip of lemon peel, twist it over the drink to release the oils, and garnish with the lemon twist.
Notes
Always use fresh lemon juice and chill your glass beforehand; serve immediately after straining for best results.
