Ingredients

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1.5 ounces mango puree or nectar
  • 0.75 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 ounce simple syrup
  • 1 cup ice for shaking
  • Fresh mango slice or twist for garnish
  • Optional: splash of champagne or prosecco for elegance

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Jigger or measuring shot glass
  • Bar spoon or long spoon
  • Cocktail strainer (Hawthorne or julep style)

  • Cutting board

  • Blender (optional)

Method
 

  1. Chill a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least 3 minutes.
  2. Measure 2 ounces of vodka and pour into the cocktail shaker.
  3. Add 1.5 ounces of mango puree or nectar to the shaker.
  4. Squeeze 0.75 ounce of fresh lime juice into the shaker, avoiding seeds.
  5. Pour 0.5 ounce of simple syrup into the shaker to balance sweetness.
  6. Fill the shaker with 1 cup of ice and seal the lid.
  7. Shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until the shaker is frosty.
  8. Strain the mixture into the chilled glass, leaving the ice behind.
  9. Garnish with a fresh mango slice or twist and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh mango puree for the best flavor; prepare puree and lime juice up to 3 days in advance and store refrigerated.
