Mango Margarita on the Rocks

Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen mango chunks
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1-2 tbsp agave syrup optional, to taste
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt for rimming the glass, optional

Equipment

  • Shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Strainer
  • Glass (preferably rocks glass)

Method
 

  1. If you like a salted rim, rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it in salt.
  2. Measure out all your ingredients: mango, lime juice, tequila, triple sec, and agave syrup.
  3. If using fresh mango, blend it until smooth.
  4. In your shaker, combine the blended mango, lime juice, tequila, and triple sec.
  5. Pour in agave syrup if preferred, and adjust according to personal taste.
  6. Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  7. Using a strainer, pour the mixture over fresh ice in your prepared glass.
  8. Add a slice of lime or a fresh mango wedge for garnish if desired.

Notes

Use ripe mango for the best sweetness and flavor.
