Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 ounces premium gin
  • 1/2 ounce dry vermouth
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce lavender simple syrup
  • 3 to 4 dashes of orange bitters
  • Ice for chilling
  • Lemon twist for garnish
  • Optional: fresh lavender sprig for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Jigger for measuring
  • Strainer
  • Chilled coupe or martini glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus peeler or zester

Method
 

  1. Chill your coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least two minutes.
  2. Fill your cocktail shaker or mixing glass with a generous handful of ice.
  3. Measure and pour 2 ounces of premium gin into the shaker with a jigger.
  4. Add 1/2 ounce of dry vermouth to the shaker.
  5. Add 1/2 ounce of fresh lemon juice to the mixture.
  6. Add 1/2 ounce of lavender simple syrup to the shaker.
  7. Add 3 to 4 dashes of orange bitters.
  8. Stir gently with a bar spoon for about ten seconds, or shake vigorously for five seconds.
  9. Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass using a strainer.
  10. Express a lemon twist over the drink and drop it into the glass. Garnish with a lavender sprig if desired.

Notes

Make lavender simple syrup ahead of time and store refrigerated for up to two weeks for quick cocktail assembly.
