Method

  1. Start by rimming your glass with salt. Rub a lime wedge around the rim and dip it into a plate of salt.
  2. Using a measuring jigger, pour 2 ounces of Jose Cuervo Tequila, 1 ounce of Triple Sec, 1 ounce of fresh lime juice, and 1 ounce of simple syrup into your shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice.
  4. Secure the lid on your shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  5. Carefully strain the mixture into your prepared glass over fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with a lime wedge.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness with more simple syrup if desired.
  8. Enjoy your homemade Jose Cuervo Margarita.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness to your liking; some prefer a more tart margarita. For a frozen margarita, blend with ice instead of shaking.
