  • 1 cup cold vodka or liquor of choice
  • 1/2 cup cold water optional, for a less potent shot

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk or spoon for stirring
  • Shot glasses or small plastic cups
  • Baking sheet or small tray
  • Refrigerator

Method

  1. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a small saucepan over high heat.
  2. Pour the boiling water into a heat-safe bowl and add the gelatin packet, stirring continuously for about 2 minutes until fully dissolved.
  3. Let the gelatin mixture cool to room temperature for about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in 1 cup of cold vodka and 1/2 cup of cold water until evenly combined.
  5. Arrange shot glasses on a baking sheet or small tray for easy transport.
  6. Carefully pour the gelatin mixture into each shot glass until three-quarters full.
  7. Refrigerate the shots on the baking sheet for 3 to 4 hours until set and slightly wobbly.
  8. Remove from the refrigerator and serve cold; use a small spoon or tilt the glass to enjoy the shots.

Notes

Make ahead and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Shots can be frozen for up to 1 month, but the texture will be firmer. Always allow 3 to 4 hours for setting.
