Method
- Heat 6 ounces of filtered water in a kettle to 160-170°F, or boil and let cool for 3-5 minutes.
- Place 1 teaspoon of loose leaf jasmine tea or 1 tea bag into an infuser or directly in your mug.
- Pour the hot water over the tea, filling the cup three-quarters full, and steep for 3-4 minutes.
- While the tea steeps, warm 3-4 ounces of whole milk in a saucepan or milk frother to 150-160°F.
- Remove the tea infuser or tea bag from the mug after steeping to avoid bitterness.
- Stir 1/2 teaspoon of honey or simple syrup into the hot tea until fully dissolved.
- Slowly pour the warmed milk into the tea, stirring gently and adding a pinch of salt if desired.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or milk amount as desired before serving immediately.
Notes
For an iced version, chill the brewed tea before adding cold milk and ice. Use high-quality loose leaf tea for best flavor.
