Method
- Pull two fresh shots of espresso (or brew very strong coffee) and pour into a small cup.
- Pour two tablespoons of chocolate syrup into the bottom of a tall glass.
- Pour the hot espresso shots over the chocolate syrup and stir for 20 to 30 seconds until fully combined.
- Add 6 to 8 ice cubes to the glass, ensuring enough to chill but not overfill.
- Slowly pour 1 cup of cold milk over the ice and espresso mixture.
- Taste the latte and add ½ to 1 tablespoon of sugar or sweetened condensed milk if more sweetness is desired, stirring to dissolve.
- Top with whipped cream if using, then serve immediately with a spoon or straw.
- Stir before drinking if the latte has been sitting to redistribute any settled chocolate.
