Ingredients

  • 8 ounces water
  • 1/2 medium fresh lemon juiced
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey

  • Lemon juicer or citrus press

Method
 

  1. Fill your kettle with 8 ounces of fresh, cold water.
  2. Bring the water to a rolling boil, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Place a mug on a stable surface and warm it if desired by filling with hot water, then discarding the water.
  4. Cut the 1/2 medium lemon into quarters and squeeze the juice into the mug using your hands or a juicer.
  5. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of honey to the mug, starting with 1 tablespoon for mild sweetness.
  6. Pour the boiling water into the mug over the lemon juice and honey.
  7. Stir well for about 30 seconds until the honey is fully dissolved.
  8. Taste the tea and adjust sweetness or lemon flavor as needed.
  9. Let the tea cool for about 1 minute, then sip and enjoy.

Notes

Use raw honey when possible to retain natural enzymes and maximize throat-soothing benefits.
