Method
- Pull 1 to 2 shots of espresso into a mug using an espresso machine or Moka pot.
- Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of raw honey and 2 tablespoons of hot water to the hot espresso and stir for 30 seconds until dissolved.
- Pour 8 to 10 ounces of cold whole milk into a milk pitcher and heat to 150°F (65°C), about 1 minute, without boiling.
- Froth the heated milk with a steam wand or milk frother for 30 to 45 seconds to create microfoam.
- Pour the steamed milk into the mug over the espresso-honey mixture, holding back the foam with a spoon, then increase the pour to incorporate foam.
- Spoon the remaining microfoam on top of the latte.
- Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top if desired.
- Serve immediately while hot and enjoy.
Notes
Dissolve honey in hot water before adding milk to avoid a gritty texture and enjoy the latte fresh for the best microfoam.
