Ingredients

Main
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons dried raspberry leaves
  • 8 ounces filtered or spring water
  • 1 teaspoon honey optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice optional
  • A small pinch fresh mint leaves optional

Equipment

  • Kettle or small pot
  • Measuring spoon
  • Tea infuser, strainer, or fine-mesh sieve
  • Teacup or mug
  • Wooden spoon or small whisk
  • Thermometer (optional)

Method

  1. Measure 8 ounces (240 milliliters) of filtered water into a kettle and bring to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  2. While the water heats, measure 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried raspberry leaves into a tea infuser, strainer, or directly into your cup.
  3. Once boiling, remove the water from heat and let it cool for about 30 to 60 seconds until it reaches 200 to 210°F (93 to 99°C).
  4. Pour the hot water over the prepared leaves in the infuser or directly into the cup.
  5. Let the tea steep undisturbed for 5 to 7 minutes, depending on your preferred strength.
  6. Remove the infuser or strain the tea through a fine-mesh sieve into a serving cup, ensuring all leaves are removed.
  7. If desired, stir in 1 teaspoon of honey or your preferred sweetener while the tea is still hot.
  8. Add a small pinch of fresh mint leaves or other fresh herbs and let steep for an additional 30 to 60 seconds.
  9. Taste the tea and adjust sweetness or citrus by adding more honey or lemon juice, or dilute with hot water if needed.

Notes

Store dried raspberry leaves in an airtight glass jar away from direct sunlight and heat for up to one year.
