Ingredients

Main
  • 750 ml vodka
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup fresh berries raspberries, strawberries, or blueberries
  • 1 cup sliced citrus lemons, oranges, or limes
  • 1 cup herbs mint, basil, or rosemary
  • 1-2 cups water

Equipment

  • Large glass jar or bottle with a tight seal
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Strainer or cheesecloth
  • Funnel
  • Bottles for storage

Method

  1. Choose your flavoring ingredients that excite you the most.
  2. Wash and chop your fruits or herbs as needed.
  3. In a large glass jar, combine the vodka, sugar, and your chosen flavoring ingredients.
  4. Pour in 1-2 cups of water to help dissolve the sugar. Stir gently to mix everything together.
  5. Seal the jar tightly and store it in a cool, dark place.
  6. Every few days, give the jar a gentle shake to mix the ingredients.
  7. After about two weeks, strain the mixture through a fine strainer or cheesecloth into a clean bottle.
  8. Using a funnel, pour the liqueur into bottles for storage.

Notes

The longer you let it infuse, the richer the flavor will be. Enjoy neat, on the rocks, or mixed into cocktails.
