Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup hulled hemp seeds
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup optional
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • Pinch of salt optional

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer
  • Measuring cups
  • Glass jar or bottle for storage

Method

  1. Start by measuring out all your ingredients.
  2. In your blender, combine the hulled hemp seeds and water. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and creamy, which usually takes about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Place your nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer over a bowl or pitcher. Carefully pour the blended mixture into the bag or strainer to separate the milk from the pulp.
  4. Gently squeeze the nut milk bag to extract as much liquid as possible.
  5. If desired, return the strained milk to the blender. Add maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, then blend for a few seconds to combine.
  6. Pour your freshly made hemp seed milk into a glass jar or bottle.
  7. Store the milk in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Shake well before each use.
