  • Cocktail strainer
  • Coupe glass or margarita glass
  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Small plate for salt rim

Method

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it into sea salt to create a salted rim.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker three-quarters full with ice cubes.
  3. Pour 2 ounces of silver tequila and 1 ounce of Grand Marnier into the shaker using a jigger.
  4. Add 1 ounce of fresh lime juice to the shaker.
  5. Pour 0.5 ounce of simple syrup into the shaker for balanced sweetness.
  6. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until the shaker is frosty.

Notes

Chill your glass in the freezer for 10 minutes before preparing the drink to keep it colder longer and prevent over-dilution.
