Ingredients

Main
  • 10 fresh mint leaves plus extra for garnish
  • 1 lime cut into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or to taste
  • 4 ounces gin
  • Club soda to top off
  • Ice for serving

Equipment

  • Muddler or wooden spoon
  • Measuring jigger
  • Shaker or mixing glass
  • Strainer (optional)
  • Glass for serving

Method

  1. In a glass, add the mint leaves and lime wedges. Use the muddler to gently crush them together, releasing the oils from the mint and juice from the lime.
  2. Sprinkle the sugar over the muddled mint and lime. Use the muddler again to mix it in until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the gin to the glass. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients together.
  4. Add ice cubes to the glass, filling it almost to the top.
  5. Pour club soda over the ice until the glass is full.
  6. Using a spoon, stir gently to combine the flavors without disturbing the mint too much.
  7. Add a sprig of mint on top for garnish, and optionally a lime wedge for extra color.
  8. Serve your gin mojito immediately with a straw or stirring stick.
