- Step 1: Chill Your Glassware – Place your rocks glasses in the freezer for at least 10 minutes before mixing.
- Step 2: Prepare the Rim – Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each glass and dip into coarse salt to coat.
- Step 3: Fill the Shaker with Ice – Add 1.5 cups of ice cubes to your cocktail shaker or mason jar.
- Step 4: Measure and Add Tequila – Pour 3 ounces of silver tequila over the ice using a jigger.
- Step 5: Add Fresh Lime Juice – Squeeze fresh lime until you have 1.5 ounces and add to the shaker.
- Step 6: Pour in Fruit Juice – Add 2 ounces of your chosen fresh fruit juice to the shaker.
- Step 7: Add Simple Syrup – Pour in 0.5 ounces of simple syrup to balance the tartness.
- Step 8: Shake Vigorously – Secure the lid and shake hard for 10 to 15 seconds until the shaker feels frosty.
- Step 9: Strain Into Prepared Glasses – Use a Hawthorne strainer to pour the margarita into the chilled, salt-rimmed glasses over fresh ice.
- Step 10: Garnish and Serve – Garnish each glass with a lime wedge and fresh berries or fruit slice. Serve immediately.
Notes
Always use freshly squeezed lime juice and avoid bottled lime juice for the best flavor.
