Ingredients

Main
  • 2 cups frozen mango chunks
  • 3 ounces silver tequila about 6 tablespoons
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice about 1 to 2 limes
  • 1/2 ounce triple sec or Cointreau about 1 tablespoon
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup or agave nectar about 1 tablespoon
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes if using fresh mango instead of frozen
  • Tajin seasoning or coarse salt for the rim optional
  • Lime wedge for garnish

Equipment

  • Blender or food processor
  • Measuring jigger or shot glass
  • Citrus juicer or handheld juicer
  • Cocktail glasses or regular glasses
  • Cutting board and knife

Method

  1. Set out your frozen mango chunks, tequila, lime, triple sec, and simple syrup so everything is ready before you blend.
  2. If you want a Tajin or salt rim, run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it into the seasoning mixture.
  3. Pour the 2 cups of frozen mango chunks into your blender first.
  4. Measure out 3 ounces of silver tequila and 1/2 ounce of triple sec and add them to the blender with the mango.
  5. Squeeze your lime juice until you have about 1 ounce, then add it along with the simple syrup to the blender.
  6. Blend everything together for 30 to 60 seconds until the mixture reaches a smooth, slushy consistency.
  7. Take a quick taste and adjust if you want more lime tartness, sweetness, or tequila kick.
  8. Pour the frozen mixture into your prepared glass, filling it about three-quarters full.
  9. Add a lime wedge to the rim or float it in the drink, and serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

Freeze your glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes before serving to keep the margarita cold and slushy for longer. Blend as close to serving time as possible for best texture. Use frozen mango chunks for creamier texture without watering down the drink. Fresh lime juice is crucial for brightness and flavor.
