Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup instant orange drink mix such as Tang
  • 1/2 cup instant lemonade mix
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened instant tea powder black tea
  • 1/2 cup dried orange peel finely crushed
  • 1/4 cup honey powder or 3 tablespoons sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon dried honey
  • 2 tablespoons whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon dried lemon peel finely crushed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk or fork
  • Glass jars with tight-fitting lids
  • Spoon for filling jars
  • Labels (optional)
  • Kettle or pot
  • Mug

Method

  1. Measure out all ingredients and gather equipment.
  2. Gently crush the dried orange and lemon peels into small visible pieces.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant orange drink mix, instant lemonade mix, unsweetened instant tea powder, and honey powder until no clumps remain.
  4. Sprinkle in the ground cinnamon and ground ginger and whisk until evenly blended.
  5. Stir in the whole cloves so they remain visible in the blend.
  6. Fold in the crushed dried orange and lemon peels with a spoon, keeping the pieces intact.
  7. Divide the tea mixture among glass jars, filling each jar three-quarters full, and seal tightly.
  8. Attach labels with date made and brewing instructions: add 2 teaspoons to 8 ounces hot water, steep 3 to 5 minutes, stir occasionally, and sweeten if desired.
  9. Store the jars in a cool, dark place; the blend keeps for up to 3 months.

Notes

Serve warm or cold; ensure jars and utensils remain dry to maintain freshness.
