Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1 ounce cold brew concentrate or 1.5 ounces regular cold brew, chilled
  • 1.5 ounces vodka
  • 0.5 ounce Kahlua or coffee liqueur
  • 0.5 ounce simple syrup
  • 1 cup ice cubes for shaking
  • 3 to 4 coffee beans for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker (Boston or standard)
  • Jigger for measuring
  • Bar spoon
  • Strainer (Hawthorne or fine mesh)
  • Coupe glass or martini glass, chilled

Method
 

  1. Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer and chill for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Add ice cubes to a cocktail shaker until it is about three-quarters full.
  3. Pour 1 ounce of cold brew concentrate into the shaker.
  4. Measure and add 1.5 ounces of vodka to the shaker.
  5. Add 0.5 ounce of Kahlua or coffee liqueur to the shaker.
  6. Pour 0.5 ounce of simple syrup into the shaker.
  7. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds using full arm motion to create a velvety crema.
  8. Strain the mixture into the chilled glass, leaving the ice behind.
  9. Garnish by floating 3 to 4 coffee beans on top of the crema and serve immediately.

Notes

Chill all ingredients and equipment beforehand and shake vigorously to achieve the signature crema; serve immediately to enjoy full flavor.
