Method
- Gently rinse the elderflower heads to remove any dirt or insects.
- Place the elderflower heads in a large glass jar and pour in the vodka.
- Add the lemon zest and juice to the jar.
- Seal the jar tightly and give it a good shake.
- Store the jar in a cool, dark place for 48 hours.
- After 48 hours, combine the sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Using a strainer or cheesecloth, strain the elderflower and vodka mixture into a clean bowl.
- Add the simple syrup to the strained liquid, mixing well.
- Pour the liqueur into clean bottles, seal tightly, and store in the refrigerator.

Let the liqueur rest for a few weeks to allow flavors to meld for better taste.
