Ingredients
  

Main
  • 8 cups of cubed bread preferably challah or brioche
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 cups of eggnog
  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of raisins or chocolate chips optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cube your bread into bite-sized pieces and place in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, eggnog, whole milk, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the cubed bread, gently folding it in with a spatula.
  5. Fold in the raisins or chocolate chips if using.
  6. Grease your 9x13 inch baking dish and pour the bread mixture into it.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread pudding cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For an extra special touch, drizzle warm caramel sauce or sprinkle powdered sugar before serving.
