Method
- Rinse the lemons under cool running water to remove any residue.
- Cut each lemon in half lengthwise using a sharp knife with adult supervision.
- Juice all eight lemon halves using a citrus juicer or reamer, collecting the juice in a bowl.
- Strain the lemon juice through a fine mesh strainer into the pitcher to remove pulp and seeds.
- Measure and add 4 cups of cold water into the pitcher with the strained juice.
- Add 1/4 cup granulated sugar to the pitcher.
- Stir the mixture for about one minute until the sugar fully dissolves.
- Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or water if desired.
- Pour the lemonade into glasses and serve immediately over ice if desired.
Notes
Best served fresh; store in the refrigerator up to 3 days without ice and stir before serving.
