Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup dragonfruit puree or frozen dragonfruit
  • 2 cups water or coconut water
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup or agave nectar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 tablespoon fruit pucker or freeze-dried strawberry powder optional

  • Blender or immersion blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Large glass pitcher or mixing bowl
  • Strainer or fine-mesh sieve
  • Tall drinking glasses
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Ice maker or access to ice

Method
 

  1. Add 1 cup frozen strawberries and 1/2 cup dragonfruit puree to the blender.
  2. Pour in 2 cups water or coconut water and add 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice.
  3. Add 1/4 cup simple syrup or agave nectar and the optional fruit pucker or powder if using.
  4. Blend on high speed for 60 to 90 seconds until the mixture is smooth and slushy.
  5. Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher, using a spoon to press through any pulp.
  6. Fill tall drinking glasses with 2 cups of fresh ice.
  7. Pour the strained refresher over the ice and stir gently to combine.
  8. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more syrup or lemon juice, then serve immediately.

Notes

Store any leftover refresher in a sealed pitcher in the refrigerator for up to three days. Stir well and pour over fresh ice before serving.
