Dirty Martini with Gin

Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2.5 ounces premium gin
  • 0.5 ounce dry vermouth
  • 0.5 to 1 ounce olive brine from your jar of cocktail olives
  • Ice cubes preferably large or one large cube
  • Pitted green olives for garnish
  • Optional: lemon twist for additional citrus note

Equipment

  • Mixing glass or cocktail shaker
  • Bar spoon or long stirring spoon
  • Jigger for measuring
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Martini glass or coupe glass

Method
 

  1. Place your martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes before mixing.
  2. Add ice cubes to a mixing glass or cocktail shaker.
  3. Measure and pour 2.5 ounces of gin over the ice.
  4. Add 0.5 ounce of dry vermouth to the mixing glass.
  5. Add 0.5 to 1 ounce of olive brine depending on desired saltiness.
  6. Stir the ingredients in the mixing glass with a bar spoon for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
  7. Strain the mixture into the chilled martini glass, leaving ice behind.
  8. Garnish with 2 to 3 pitted green olives or add a lemon twist if desired.

Notes

Serve immediately and keep all ingredients and glassware well chilled for the best clarity and flavor.
