Main
  • 8 ounces brewed coffee hot or cooled
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened full-fat coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon coconut cream optional for extra richness
  • 1 teaspoon sweetener honey, maple syrup, or agave, adjust to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 4 to 5 ice cubes for iced version

Equipment

  • Coffee maker or kettle
  • Mug or drinking glass
  • Spoon
  • Measuring cups and tablespoons
  • Small saucepan
  • Milk frother or immersion blender

Method

  1. Brew 8 ounces of fresh coffee using your preferred method (drip machine, French press, or pour-over), about 3 minutes.
  2. Pour the hot brewed coffee into a mug or drinking glass.
  3. Pour 3 tablespoons coconut milk into a small saucepan and warm over medium heat for about 1 minute, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir sweetener and vanilla extract into the warm coconut milk until fully dissolved.
  5. Add a pinch of sea salt to the coconut milk mixture and stir to combine.
  6. Slowly pour the seasoned coconut milk into the mug of coffee while stirring gently to blend.
  7. Spoon 1 tablespoon coconut cream on top for extra richness if desired.
  8. Taste and adjust sweetness or vanilla, then serve hot or add ice cubes for an iced version.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh; store brewed coffee and coconut milk separately to prevent separation and combine just before serving.
