Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon black tea leaves optional
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or sugar to taste
  • 1 slice fresh ginger optional
  • Milk to taste, optional

  • Strainer or fine-mesh sieve

Method
 

  1. Boil 2 cups of water in a small saucepan.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of whole cloves to boiling water.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon of black tea leaves if desired for a stronger flavor.
  4. Add a slice of fresh ginger if you like a spicier flavor.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes on reduced heat.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in honey or sugar to taste.
  7. Strain the tea using a fine mesh sieve into a serving cup.
  8. Optionally, add a splash of milk for creaminess.
