Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 ounces 60 ml vodka
  • 1 ounce 30 ml cranberry liqueur
  • 0.5 ounces 15 ml fresh lime juice
  • 0.25 ounces 7.5 ml dry vermouth
  • 1 cup ice for shaking
  • 3 to 4 fresh cranberries for garnish
  • 1 strip lime peel for garnish
  • Pinch sea salt for rimming optional

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger for measuring
  • Strainer
  • Martini glass or coupe glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer or hand juicer
  • Vegetable peeler or channel knife
  • Cutting board
  • Cocktail picks or small skewers

Method
 

  1. Chill your martini or coupe glass in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  2. Fill the cocktail shaker halfway with 1 cup of fresh ice cubes.
  3. Measure and pour 2 ounces (60 ml) vodka into the shaker.
  4. Add 1 ounce (30 ml) cranberry liqueur to the shaker.
  5. Squeeze fresh lime juice to get 0.5 ounces (15 ml) and add it to the shaker.
  6. Measure and pour 0.25 ounces (7.5 ml) dry vermouth into the shaker.
  7. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds until the outside is frosty.
  8. Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass, discarding the ice.
  9. Twist the lime peel over the drink to release oils, optionally rim the glass with sea salt, and skewer 3 to 4 cranberries for garnish.

Notes

Always use fresh lime juice and quality ice. Optionally rim the glass with sea salt and garnish with fresh cranberries for a festive presentation.
