Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 black tea bags preferably Assam or Darjeeling
  • 1 cup milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper optional

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Whisk or frother
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Strainer or fine-mesh sieve
  • Mug or cup

Method
 

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  2. Add tea bags and let steep for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in ground cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and optional spices.
  4. Add honey or sugar, stirring until dissolved.
  5. Heat 1 cup of milk in a separate saucepan over medium heat, avoiding boiling.
  6. Froth the warm milk using a whisk or frother.
  7. Remove the tea bags and pour the tea mixture into a mug.
  8. Top with frothed milk, sprinkle with cinnamon, and serve.

Notes

For an extra indulgent touch, add a splash of vanilla extract to the milk before frothing.
