Casamigos Margarita

A perfectly balanced margarita made with premium Casamigos tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, Cointreau or triple sec, and a touch of agave nectar, served with a salted rim and lime garnish.

Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 ounces Casamigos tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice from 1 to 2 fresh limes
  • 0.5 ounce Cointreau or triple sec
  • 0.25 ounce agave nectar or simple syrup
  • Kosher salt for rim
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wheel for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mason jar with lid
  • Jigger or measuring shot glass
  • Bar strainer
  • Margarita or cocktail glass
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Small shallow dish for salt rim

Method
 

  1. Run a lime wedge around the outer rim of a margarita glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into kosher salt in a shallow dish to coat evenly.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker or mason jar three-quarters full with ice cubes.
  3. Measure and pour 2 ounces of Casamigos tequila blanco into the shaker.
  4. Add 1 ounce of fresh lime juice to the shaker.
  5. Pour 0.5 ounce of Cointreau or triple sec into the shaker.
  6. Add 0.25 ounce of agave nectar (or simple syrup) to the shaker.
  7. Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until the outside is frosty.
  8. Place a bar strainer over the shaker and strain the margarita into the prepared glass.
  9. Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim and serve immediately.

Notes

Chill glassware in the freezer for at least 15 minutes before serving to keep the drink colder longer.
