Method
- Wash the cantaloupe under cool running water, scrubbing the netted skin gently to remove any dirt.
- Using a sharp chef's knife, cut the cantaloupe in half lengthwise.
- Use a spoon to scrape out and discard the seeds and fibrous pulp from both halves.
- Place each cantaloupe half flat side down on the cutting board and slice away the skin in vertical strips.
- Cut the peeled cantaloupe flesh into roughly 2-inch chunks and add to the blender or juicer container.
- Add 1/2 cup cold water and blend on high speed for 45 to 60 seconds until the mixture is smooth.
- Optionally, pour the juice through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing solids to extract all the liquid.
- Taste the juice and stir in fresh lime or lemon juice if desired to brighten the flavor.
- Serve the cantaloupe juice over ice immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.
Notes
Serve juice immediately over ice or refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 24 hours.
