Method
- Slice 1 medium lime into quarters or wedges, trimming excess pith.
- Place lime wedges and 6-8 fresh mint leaves into a rocks glass.
- Muddle the lime and mint with a cocktail muddler or wooden spoon for 10-12 seconds, pressing gently to release oils and juice.
- Add 2 teaspoons white sugar over the muddled lime and mint.
- Stir the mixture for about 5 seconds to dissolve the sugar evenly.
- Fill the glass three-quarters full with about 1 cup of crushed ice.
- Pour 2 ounces (60 ml) vodka over the ice.
- Stir thoroughly for 10-15 seconds until the drink is well combined and slightly diluted.
- Taste and adjust by adding a pinch more sugar if too sour, then top with additional crushed ice and serve immediately.
Notes
Best served immediately; avoid over-muddling to prevent bitterness.
